After dropping a roll of hay in the feeder, Richard Jeffers closes a portion of his 140 female cows into a pen. “I’ve slowed down here recently,” he said. “That’s why I work a second job away from the farm.” Jeffers works thirty, or more hours a week at Tractor Supply Company in Athens, Ohio.
